Alchemy of High Magick

Artist Blends

The Alchemy of High Magick: A blog by Acey Slade

We get asked, why and how we chose to do a blend with Damien Echols. I met Damien at an art gallery showing at the legendary Sacred Tattoo and Art Gallery. My good friend Kevin Wilson had curated the show which contained many different pieces of art from a man I only knew from the HBO Documentary ‘Paradise Lost’. Damien, at that time, was looking to find some friends in NYC and the whole Sacred Tattoo crew took him in. Damien was known from the West Memphis Three, but there was a lot more to the guy.

We saw an chance to not only to help someone, but also to make it known that Dead Sled Coffee is for the misunderstood. For the outcasts. For the troublemakers. For the untethered.

Damien explains;

Magick is not a path for followers; it is a path for questioners, seekers, and anyone who has trouble settling for dogma and pre-formulated answers. Magick is for those who feel the desire to peel away the surface of reality and see what lies beneath. Like various persecuted form of mysticism, magick promotes direct contact with the source of creation.

And to us, making coffee is magick. It’s actual alchemy.

To celebrate Damien’s book, we are running a sale on his Tzadkiel Blend. Get THREE bags of Damien’s coffee for only $40! That’s like getting the third bag for only $4!
