Post Mortem Pop Up

A Blog By Acey Slade:

This past weekend was Dead Sled Coffee’s first on-site pop up shop selling our coffee, tea, and merch. I’ll be honest with you. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about standing behind a counter slinging coffee and taking orders. It’s not really the kind of thing I’m used to doing. But, it became clear from the very beginning that this wouldn’t be as foreign as I had thought.

First, load up a van. Duh. Do I really need to explain how normal that is for me? As a touring musician, one week I’m in a private jet with the Foo Fighters, the next I’m loading up a 1970’s box van with busted Marshall guitar amps. That’s literally been my life for the past 20 years.

Second, loading in and setting up a pop up coffee shop; not very different from setting up a band’s merch table. Minus the gallons and gallons of coffee I had to carry in. Wait, that’s actually been my life the past 20 years too!

Third, making people happy with something I (we) created. When people sampled our coffee, the looks on their faces of joy was similar (though not as polarizing) as hitting a power chord. Something I’ve done for the past 20 years too!

It seems like everything has been leading up to this. Hell, we even had table 138! How crazy is that?

It was also kismet that we were introducing our new coffee body scrub there as well. I was up at 5am brewing coffee, loading the van, driving to Trenton, unloading and on my feet all day. I couldn’t wait to get home and take a long hot bath.

Our new Post Mortem Body Scrub will totally bring you back from the dead. Body scrubs have a reputation for being sort of, well, bland. This scrub rocks! I wouldn’t have even thought about a body scrub unless I hadn’t read about the benefits of a coffee body scrub! Hell, it even has my favorite word in it; Coffee!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the pop up shop, and make sure you come to one of the future events we are at. Grab a coffee or a body scrub and keep up that PMA!
