Continuing Celebrations with Women in Coffee Day

We’re continuing celebrations with National Women in Coffee Day!

We admit it, we’re cynics here at Dead Sled. At first glance, National Women in Coffee Day may sound like another cheesy Hallmark holiday geared to generate real sales. Well, since we’re just a month old..GOOD!

All joking aside, Dead Sled is a coffee company. Two of our five person team are females. Besides rock n’ roll, a dark sense of humor and amazing coffee we DO believe in equality. To celebrate, we are extending another reminder about our site-wide sale! Use the code DEADSLED15 at checkout to get 15% off your entire order. Enjoy your coffee and enjoy all humans of all shapes sizes and genders.

Without further ado, here are a few words from the amazing women of Dead Sled Coffee.

“Whatever women do they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good. Luckily this is not difficult.” – Charlotte Whitton

I ran across this quote in a book on my mother’s shelf. It absolutely resonated with me as a little girl and I think of it often. I was very aware of this quote when I decided to found Dead Sled Coffee and today, being National Women in Coffee Day, made me think of it again.

Thankfully my gender is never an issue with my team. We are actually marrying two things that have typically been male dominated: Rock and roll and Coffee. Honestly, when I created Dead Sled I never set about to do it because I was a woman, or to show the world what women can do. My gender didn’t come into my head at all. I wanted to create a kick ass company offering kick ass coffee. That’s it. Nothing more.

So yes, Dead Sled is a business founded and owned by a woman but that’s not where I want the focus to be. I want the focus to be on you. Man, Woman, Black, White, somewhere in-between, or someplace unsure.

Dead Sled Coffee is for the person who feels like the odd man or woman out. What matters is that you love or coffee and feel a warm welcome in the Dead Sled community.

To be able to share something as personal as coffee with people and that choice to be Dead Sled is a treasure. Diana, as a owner, has carried her vision to coffee lovers everywhere. It’s been amazing to witness  and enjoyable to be on the ride with her. Remember-people love coffee, and if you can over come some of the difficulties some of us women face and have a product they already love-your going to be successful.
