Wednesday 13, Dead Sled fiend

Wednesday 13

By: Acey Slade

When we started Dead Sled Coffee, it was with the intention of making the best coffee on the market, but without all of the pretentiousness specialty coffee tends to have. Hipsters may have poor taste in music, but they sure do have great taste in coffee. Why can’t there be a company that has both? There can be. There is. It’s us!

Being a musician I’ve reached out to my friends in the music community to help spread the word. Obviously contingent upon them honestly liking our coffee of course.

For those who don’t know, I used to play in a band called The Murderdolls. Our singer, Wednesday 13 has been a friend for the past 15 years, and besides having a killer set of pipes, is also a great front man, writer and lyricist. Like all greats, he’s a little weird.

I remember being on tour with Wednesday 13 and the only food he would eat was fried chicken. He didn’t try Subway sandwiches until he was nearly 30 years old, and had never drank coffee in his life. That, in my world is a little weird.

Over time, eventually the magic of the mud found it’s way into Wednsday’s mug. He has been hooked on coffee since.

Wednesday is currently hard at work on his 8th album, Necrophaze which is on Nuclear Blast Records, and will be touring this Spring with Cradle of Filth and more.

If you are a fan of Horror Punk, Wednesday is a bit of a chameleon within the genre. Musically he’s extremely diverse yet the lyrics are always dark, morbid and with a sense of humor. Just like Dead Sled.

Make sure you check out Necrophaze this Spring, or if you don’t want to wait, check out Wednesday’s entire catalog or go see him and his amazing band on tour.
